Colonia Central Elementary School is located in Barangay Colonia, Tuburan, a three-hour drive across mountains from Cebu City. Like most public schools in remote areas in Cebu, Colonia Central Elementary School lacks the basic facilities crucial to a child's education. It doesn't have running water, it doesn't have enough comfort rooms for its hundreds of students, among other problems. Included in its plans for this year is to have a computer laboratory. The school looks at having ten computer units and plans to rehabilitate a dilapidated room for the facility. The school administration estimated the entire project to cost P280,000 thousand (or 6,326 Canadian dollars), including the purchase of computer tables, chairs and an airconditioning unit.
